To be Continued...

hello world...

well, life has been extremely interesting for me recently. At work there has been some interesting changes and hopefully there are some drastic changes soon.

I also see a big surprise coming for one of my friends, she'll be completely ecstatic. :)

On the other hand one of my friends are having some issues in there life, but I know she'll be fine and she'll definitely grow from it.

I've been writing down in a tablet everything that I want for my wedding and getting a little excited about it already. :)

Relay for Life is on July 18-19 from 6pm - 6am and we, not SEARS, but we as in some of us that work at SEARS have a tent for the event and I am in charge of decorations. So, today Chris and I were busy making stars and spray painting them. And I have to say that I am kind of proud of them. :)

More to come.....Stay tuned for details. :)

Have a GREAT evening.

Aloha All....

Last night was Friend's and Family Night at Sears and it was a success for me. I did really well in sales and realized that I have I guess a "Knack" for sales. I'm not the pushy sales person, I am the let the jewelry and price speak for itself. I hate it when I'm bombarded by a sales person at the counter even after I tell them "I am just looking".

Well, today was suppose to be my last day at 'Imiloa, but my boss emailed me this morning and let me know that he had to take care of personal business this morning so Friday was actually my last day. :( I will miss 'Imiloa, mostly because all the people there were so inviting and friendly.Tomorrow is my last day of school and then all I have is finals left. so, I will be going into "Crunch Mode" for the next couple of weeks and then I graduate!! :) Its very exciting to realize that I won't have to worry about mid-terms, finals, papers, assignments, etc...

Oh, I forgot....I got a letter in the mail from Kamehameha Schools and apparently my son wasn't accepted into preschool this year. There were 198 applicants and only 96 open spots. not very good odds.

Then after all that our family trip is coming up. YA!!! Spending all day long doing nothing but kicking back in a pool with a drink in hand. BBQ. Sun Tanning. Swimming. Spending time with the family. Spending time with my son. Not having to worry about doing homework while i"m there. Shopping. Then playing games with the family before bed and doing it again the next day from Friday - Monday. :)

Well, that's all folks....Have a wonderful day.

Swine Flu 3...

Swine Influenza (Flu)

U.S. Human Cases of Swine Flu Infection(As of April 29, 2009, 11:00 AM ET)
International Human Cases of Swine Flu InfectionSee: World Health Organization

The outbreak of disease in people caused by a new influenza virus of swine origin continues to grow in the United States and internationally. Today, CDC reports additional confirmed human infections, hospitalizations and the nation’s first fatality from this outbreak. The more recent illnesses and the reported death suggest that a pattern of more severe illness associated with this virus may be emerging in the U.S. Most people will not have immunity to this new virus and, as it continues to spread, more cases, more hospitalizations and more deaths are expected in the coming days and weeks.
CDC has implemented its emergency response. The agency’s goals are to reduce transmission and illness severity, and provide information to help health care providers, public health officials and the public address the challenges posed by the new virus. Yesterday, CDC issued new interim guidance for clinicians on how to care for children and pregnant women who may be infected with this virus. Young children and pregnant women are two groups of people who are at high risk of serious complications from seasonal influenza. In addition, CDC’s Division of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) continues to send antiviral drugs, personal protective equipment, and respiratory protection devices to all 50 states and U.S. territories to help them respond to the outbreak. The swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is susceptible to the prescription antiviral drugs oseltamivir and zanamivir. This is a rapidly evolving situation and CDC will provide updated guidance and new information as it becomes available.

Swine Flu 2...

Here is the latest on the swine influenza outbreak. I got it from the WHO website.

Swine influenza - update 4

28 April 2009--The situation continues to evolve rapidly. As of 19:15 GMT, 28 April 2009, seven countries have officially reported cases of swine influenza A/H1N1 infection. The United States Government has reported 64 laboratory confirmed human cases, with no deaths. Mexico has reported 26 confirmed human cases of infection including seven deaths.

The following countries have reported laboratory confirmed cases with no deaths - Canada (6), New Zealand (3), the United Kingdom (2), Israel (2) and Spain (2).

Further information on the situation will be available on the WHO website on a regular basis.

WHO advises no restriction of regular travel or closure of borders. It is considered prudent for people who are ill to delay international travel and for people developing symptoms following international travel to seek medical attention, in line with guidance from national authorities.

There is also no risk of infection from this virus from consumption of well-cooked pork and pork products. Individuals are advised to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water on a regular basis and should seek medical attention if they develop any symptoms of influenza-like illness.

Speaking about pigs...we have recently been aware of a family of pigs living in the back of our house. There is a mommy and 5 babies. The mommy is Polk-a-dotted and so is one of the babies, but the others are black. Chris caught them on film the other day, but then I heard the bushes moving outside last night and decided to look and I finally got to see them. :) Unfortunately because I got to see them and think they're cute I now do not want them to be hurt. So, i don't really want to tell my brother-in-law because i know that's exactly what he'll want to do, not hurt them, but hunt them. Its a little disturbing. Also, my son has started to like them and look for them through the window and call them "Here piggy piggy piggy". Its really cute. :)

I currently still have a itch in my throat that hasn't come out to be a cough yet, but I'm not looking forward to that. I took my temperature this morning and there is no sign of a fever, so that's good, because a fever is the main sign for the swine flu.

Okay folks that's all for now, need to finish up some schoolwork.

Have a wonderful day and stay healthy.

This picture is called the Horsehead Nebula, the most famous nebula in the sky.
So, not sure if I'm the late one or not, but have you heard of the "Swine Fly" that's going around. Apparently it started in Mexico and has already affected the US. It is considered level 4 out of 6 level in the World Health Organization (WHO) disaster ratings. Isn't that a scary. I don't want to freak myself out so I'll leave it at that.

Well, schools starting to come to an end and I am sooo happy, yet so sad, because that just means that finals are coming up too. I approximately 3 weeks. Great. I'm soo excited. Really.

I just can't wait till I graduate and am able to spend time with my family. That's reminds me...today we went to the park, Lincoln Park, and it was very fun. My son was running all around, playing on the swings, the slides, and etc... They have this mountain climbing thing that he tried out for the first time and amazingly he climbed up it with no problem, like a natural. interesting. Then all of a sudden a whole bunch of kids, about 7 years in age, came running out of no where and ended up chasing all the kids that were they already away. It was kind of sad. The kids that were there originally ranged in ages 18 months to about 5, so when those big kids came they pretty much had no choice of where to go. :( so we stayed for a little while longer and then ended up leaving.

Dinner was AWESOME. I bought laulau from my co-worker and it was sooo good. Sometimes there are laulau that has too much fat or too much leaf, well this ones had a great balance of fat and leaf. There was surprisingly a lot of meat and there was butter fish in it too. :)

Okay, well tomorrow I have school and then off to 'Imiloa for a site visit with my class.

Good night all! :)

Here I am at 'Imiloa and I am installing MAC OS X on my computer. Its taking a long time so I figured this would be a perfect time to "blog".

Today, I pondered the question...."Where did people come from?". Without thinking bibically try to see what theory you come up with.

I have heard the africa theory and the fertile cresent, and etc... But how is it that our species was much more intelligent than we are today? Think about their accomplishments. We have the pyramids, astronomy, navigation with stars, pottery made completely by marble, easter island heads, etc...

That should give you a lot to ponder.

Have a nice day! :)

I'm back...

Well so far this is a recap of the last month. The most exciting thing that happened for me this month was our garage sale. We had a garage sale on the 18th and it was very successful. We still had a lot of stuff let over, but a lot was sold. To think we were gonna throw all that old stuff away when it actually made us a decent amount of money. One of the big items we tried to sell was my elliptical that I bought against the wishes of my other half. I only used it for about 30 minutes(combined total). I bought it when I was in my exercise phase. That didn't last very long. I noticed that I usually go through one of those phases every 2 months or so. Weird. Well, back to the elliptical...I was trying to sell it for $200 and nothing less. I originally bought it for $300 something and put it together all by myself, used it for little while and then it just stayed in our house and was used to hang our towels on to dry. LOL! ^_^ Well, chris put the elliptical on craig's list and what do you know...7am the next morning he gets a call and a lady is interested in it and wants to pick it up. So, at exactly 8:00am she came and gave me $200 and hauled it away. She actually got a great deal if you know how expensive ellipticals are.

Yesterday, we went down to vacationland for a little while and snorkeled around and then we decided to go check out the warm water pond thats close to Pohoiki. My son had the time of his life. To him it was like taking a bath for about a good hour and a half. He was swimming all by himself with his vest of course. I think we need to go there more often.

Today, I had to cancel going to 'Imiloa because my father had a doctor's appt and we were kind of hesitant about how my child would act going to a doctor's office, so decided to just stay home. I will be leaving to work soon so TA-TA!!

Have a great day!
